154. My visit to Thiruvannamalai.

Day 1.

Today, I, my mother, my sister and my father went to Thiruvannamalai to attend a short story meeting.  Usually, I would get up at 9:30 in the morning.  To get up at 7:30 itself is a great difficulty for me.  Today my mother woke me up at 5:55 in the morning I got up sleepily.  That’s when I remembered that we are going to Thiruvannamalai today.  So, I got up, brushed my teeth, took a quick bath, wore my dress and combed my hair.  To my surprise, my sister woke up at 5:45 a.m!  10 minutes earlier than me.  Usually, she would only get up earlier that me, but this was a greater surprise as it was early in the morning.  We started at 6:20 in the morning.  We were travelling by car.  The road was pieceful as it was early in the morning.  We started the journey.  When I was in the car, I was learning Science as the Quarterly Examinations were nearing.  I learned Science for sometime, read my English proverb book for sometime and read my ‘School Essay’ book for most of the time.  And some of the time, I enjoyed the places we were travelling.

We stopped at one place to eat our breakfast.  I first refused to get down from the car and eat as the mud was slushy because it rained the previous day.  After that, my mother said that she wold give chocolates only to my sister who ate.  So, I ate only one dosa.  After that, my mother gave me and my sister a packetful of chocolates.  After sometime we were nearing Thiruvannamalai.  We were coming to the meeting place where we saw paddy fields, which were green.  My sister said that it was like someone painted it in light green colour.  That time Bava Chelladurai uncle’s daughter Mansi invited us.  It was their farmhouse.  First, the place looked unfamiliar.  So, I, my sister and my mother sat in a place.  My father straightaway went to attend the meeting.  First one uncle was talking.  That time, I, Mansi and my sister played hide and seek for sometime.
My mother said Mansi to take her to Mansi’s mother’s elder sister’s house.  So, after eating the vadas and drinking the hot cup of tea, I, my mother, my sister and Mansi started off to her house.  There was a wooden swing in which we played for sometime.  Then there were 4 shuttle rackets.  I and Mansi took 1 each and started playing.  That time, my sister complained to my mother that we are not joining her in the game.  So we joined her also.

Time flew and it became noon.  All the people who were there, came here to eat.  I first thought to eat and after that, I thought to eat with Mansi who was serving dishes.  After serving everyone, I and Mansi ate alone.  After eating, we again started playing.  After playing for a short while, we left for the meeting.  That time, S.K.P. Karuna uncle came.  I and Mansi got bored and we again came to the house.  That time, I met one Akka named Gayathri.  We collected leaves and flowers to make a plate.  We got sticks by which we can mend the leaves together.  At last we finished making the plate and decorated it with the flowers.  That time, we missed Karuna uncle’s speech and the hot tea and vadas.  After that Mansi’s mother, Shylaja aunty was speaking.  That time, we played badminton with Mansi’s elder brother Vamsi and their mother’s elder sister’s son Amara Bharati.  So, we missed it also.  Then it became around 7:30 p.m when we came to the house.  For a while, I played shuttle with some men.

After sometime, they served dinner.  I ate one puri and kuruma and went to sleep.  Mansi and Gayathri went to their houses.  Some people who came to listen to the speeches slept in their farm house.  Some slept in S.K.P.Karuna uncle’s college’s guest house.  We had a great day today.

151. The most scary day of my life.

Before the teachers' day, I was making a greeting card for my class teacher.  That time, a lady came to my home, knocking at the door.  She said, "Do you know Dr. Chitra?"  Chitra stayed in groundfloor.  She passed away before 1 year.  That lady who came to our home said that her name was Rebecca.  She was looking scary wearing a T- Shirt and a pant.  She also wore 5 or 6 chains.  She combed her hair and ponied her hair.  She asked, "Do you know Dr. Chitra?"  My mother said," She passed away before 1 year."  Then she said my mother to talk to her friend in phone.  My mother refused to do.  She said she was coming from Sweden.  Then she wrote something on a paper keeping it on the railing.  Here comes the most scariest part of the story.  Though she had a scary look, she also had a terrible Tamil speaking.  I was near the window making a heart when that scary lady called, “Akka, akka!” and gave me the paper.  My heart struck for a minute.  Then I ran to the bedroom where my mother and sister were there.  I said the whole thing to my mother, scared.  If I again go near the window, she would frighten me even more.  So I ran to the kitchen in lightning speed and hid there.  That scary lady was still standing near the window.  But for luck, we put net for preventing mosquitoes in our home or else, she would have thrown the paper inside and I would have fainted.  I hid in the kitchen till she went.  After she went, I went out to see whether she was there still.  When I saw the paper my eyes came out.  This scared me even more.  She kept the paper under my sister's black shoe.  In the paper she wrote:
Mr. Goerge, No: (some number)
Please call number.

I was terrified.  After my father came home, we said the whole story to him.  That time he laughed and said that Rebecca was Dr. Chitra’s friend.  Then we were all relieved.  This is the most scary day of my life.
