144. வாத்து ராஜா (நூல் விமர்சனம் III)

அப்போது வானவன் ராஜாவுக்கு கோபம் வந்து அவர் அவருடைய அரண்மனைக்கே சென்றுவிட்டார்.  அரண்மனைக்குச் சென்று, அவரின் படைவீரர்கள் கிட்டே ஊரில் உள்ள எல்லா வாத்துகளையும் கொல்ல ஆணையிட்டார்.

அப்போது சுந்தரி என்றொரு பெண் அவள் பாட்டி கூடே ஒரு குடிசையில் வசித்திருந்தாள்.  அவள் பாட்டி, கிழங்கு விற்க போவார்.  அப்போது, ஒரு நாள் சுந்தரியும் அவள் பாட்டி கூடே போனாள்.  வழியில், ஒரு தண்டோராக்காரர் தண்டோராவை அடித்துக்கொண்டு, “அரசர் நாட்டில் இருக்கிற எலா வாத்துகளையும் கொல்ல ஆணையிடார்,” என்று கத்திக்கொண்டே அடுத்த ஊருக்கு சென்றார்.  அப்போது சுந்தரி அவள் வாழும் குடிசைக்கு ஓடிச்  சென்று தன் வாத்துகளை பார்த்துக்கொண்டே இருந்தாள்.

அப்போது, அடுத்த வீட்டில் இருக்கும் மீனா அக்கா அவள் குடிசைக்குள் வந்தாள்.  அப்போது, தூரத்தில் படைவீரர்களின் குதிரை சத்தம் கேட்டது.  அப்போது, பாட்டி இரண்டு பேருக்கும் கிழங்கு சமைக்க சென்றிருந்தாள்.

அப்போது, மீனாவுக்கு ஒரு யோசனை வந்தது.  துணி துவைக்கும் தாத்தா கிட்டே போய், “தாத்தா, எங்களுக்கு உங்கள் கிட்டே இருக்கிற மை புட்டியைக் கொஞ்சம் என் கிட்டே குடுங்களேன்.  சிறிது நேரத்தில் திருப்பிக் குடுத்துடுவோம்,” என்று மீனா சொன்னாள்.

அந்த மை புட்டியை மீனா எடுத்துக் கொண்டு, மீனாவும் சுந்தரியும் வாத்துகள் மேல் பூ பூவாக வரைந்து வைத்தார்கள்.  அடுத்த நாள், படைவீரர்கள் சுந்தரியின் வீட்டில் வாத்துகளை கொல்பதர்க்காக வந்தப்போது, அவள் அவளின் பூ வாத்துகளை காண்பித்தாள்.  அப்போது, படைவீரர்கள்,

“இது வாத்தாயிருந்தால், நளைக்கு இது போடும் முட்டையை கான்பிப்பீர்,” என்று சொல்லி சென்று விட்டார்.  மீனாவும் சுந்தரியும் பாட்டியும் பயந்துப் போய் அவர் வீட்டில் உட்கார்ந்தார்.

142. Microsoft's new CEO.

Satya Nadella, an Indian American was appointed as the Microsoft’s CEO (Chief Executive Officer).  He was appointed on 4^th of February, 2014.  He succeeds Steve Ballmer.  Before that, he was the vice president of the Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group.  He was responsible for building and running the company’s computing platforms, developer tools and cloud services.  He joined Microsoft 20 years ago. 

                         

141. Mickey mouse.

Mickey mouse is a greatest cartoon.  Walt Disney came out with Mickey mouse on 1928, and Mickey is now 85 years old.  We wanted to wish Mickey mouse a very happy birthday as he entertained me all the time I kept the channel.  We can see Mickey mouse in Disney park, TV, cartoon movies and also, we can see a wonderful series of Mickey mouse online too.  For Mickey’s 85^th birthday, the Walt Disney is coming up with Vintage – Style Cartoon

140. வாத்து ராஜா. (நூல் விமர்சனம் II)

அப்போது, தேசிங்குவும் கலிங்கனும், அவரவரது நாட்டில் சென்றார்கள்.  வானவன் ராஜாவும் அவரது அரண்மனயில் மக்கள்கிட்டே ஆமாம் அல்லது சரி என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.  அதனால், வானவன் ராஜாவுக்கு காவலாளிகளும் வேலைக்கார்ர்களும் வாத்து தான் பறவைகளிலேயே முட்டாள் என்பதால், வாத்து ராஜா என்று பெயர் வைத்தார்கள்.  அப்போது, வானவன் ராஜாவுக்கு புகழ் படும் சம்பு என்றொருத்தன் அவன் மனைவி கிட்டே, “உனக்கு ஒன்னு தெரியுமா ?  நம் ராஜா முட்டாள் என்பதால், அவருக்கு காவலாளிகளும், வேலைக்காரர்களும் வாத்து ராஜா என்று பெயர் வைத்தார்கள்.  நீ இந்த விஷயத்தை யார் கிட்டேயும் சொல்லக் கூடாது”, என்று சொன்னார்.

அப்போது, அவரின் மனைவிக்கு சிரிப்பு அடக்க முடியவில்லை.  சிரித்துக்கொண்டே இருந்தப்போது, மோர் விற்கும் பாட்டி அவ்ள் வீட்டுக்கு வந்தார்.  “ஏன் இப்படி சிரிக்கிற” அன்று கேட்டால், சம்புவின் மனைவி, “ஒன்றும் இல்லை,” என்று சொன்னாள்.  அப்பொது அப் பாட்டி, “நீ சொல்லாவிட்டால், நான் உனக்கு மோர் தர மாட்டேன்,” சொன்னார்.  அப்பொது, சம்புவின் மனைவி, “சரி, நான் இந்த ரகசியத்தை உங்கள் கிட்டே சொல்றேன், ஆனா, நீங்க இதை யார் கிட்டேயும் சொல்லக் கூடாது,” என்று சொல்லி, அர் ரகசியத்தை பாட்டி கிட்டே சொல்லிவிட்டாள்.

பாட்டி சும்மா இருக்காமல், வாத்துகளை மேய்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்த பெண் கிட்டே, “அடடா, உனக்கு இவ்வளவு ராஜாக்கள் இருக்கிறார்களா?” என்று அதிசயமாக்க் கேட்டார்.  அப்போது, வாத்துகளை மேய்க்கும் பெண் புரியாமல், “எனக்கு புரியவில்லை,” என்று சொன்னாள்.  அப்போது, பாட்டி, “நீ இதை யார் கிட்டேயும் சொல்லக்கூடாது,”என்று சொல்லி, அர் ரகசியத்தை அந்தப் பெண்.  இப்படி, இந்த விஷயத்தை எல்லாவரும் அறிந்து, அது அடுத்த நாட்டுக்கே பொய்விட்டது.  அப்போது, ஒரு நெல் திருவிழாயில்வானவன் ராஜா வந்தப்போது, சம்பு

139. Sonia and the December King.

                         The two friends.

A frog and a tiger were friends.  Sometimes, the frog goes to the tiger’s house.  Every time the frog goes to the tiger’s house, the tiger cooks delicious meat for it.

 

One day, the frog said, “Tiger friend, now it’s your turn to come to my house.”  But the tiger said, “Friend, I eat non – veg.  You should cook some meat for me when I come to your house.”

The frog agreed and said, “As you wish, I will cook meat for you when you come.”

The tiger also agreed its invitation.

 

Where will I get meat ?  This was the frog’s problem.  It roamed here and there for meat.

 

That time only, the frog noticed a horse standing at the river bank.  The frog ran so fast and jumped on the horse.  It tried to bite the meat from the horse’s body.

 

Will the horse be standing like that?  It shook and shook and threw the frog away.  The frog who fell down’s leg broke.  From that day only, the frog does not stand straight.

It has dawned.  That day, the tiger was coming to the frog’s house to eat a feast.  But, the frog did not get meat still.  The frog who was fooled well, came to its house which was like a roof.

Then, the frog started to bite the meat from its own leg.  It started to scream with pain.  That time only, the tiger came to the frog’s house.

 

It wondered why the frog was screaming like this.  It went inside the frog’s house to see what had happened.

 

What did the tiger see?  It saw the frog biting the meat in its own leg to give to the guest!  The tiger was sympathetic to the frog.

It said, “Friend, why are you troubling yourself like this?  Why are you biting the meat in your own leg for me?  I don’t want meat,” and went away.

It had tensions thinking about what wrongs it did.  It went out of the house, jumped into the river and started living there.

Like that only, the frog changed its living place from land to water.  Its legs became thin because it bit the meat from its leg.

138. La Tomatina.

La Tomatina* is a thrilling

festival held in Bunol in Spain.

This food festival is held on all

the last Wednesdays of

the month August.  On this day

of the festival,thousands of people

throw the vegetable / fruit tomato

on each other for fun. 

The estimated number of tomatoes

are 150,000.  That means 40

tons of tomatoes are smashed 

up for fun.  The whole

town is colored red.  The

136. World's first talking robot astronaut.

Japan is to send a talking robot astronaut to space.  The humanoid talking robot astronaut, called Kirobo talks with humans.  The robots are not big, but the idea is huge.  Kiboro is the world's first conversation between robots and humans.

Kirobo is about 34 cm tall and weighs about 1 kg, which makes it more shorter than the robots that go to space.  The talking robot was developed by the University of Tokyo, Toyota and Dentsu Inc.  Kirobo is set to be launched from the Tanegashima Space Center on August 4 2013.

                            

INDIA'S FIRST NAVIGATION SATELLITE LAUNCHED:

 India's first navigation satellite IRNSS - 1 was placed in an orbit by Indian rocket.  It is the first to the seven satellites planned under the IRNSS.  The satellite goes around the Earth at an height of 36,000 km.  The chairman of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said the successful launch of the satellite, "India has entered an era of space application."

இக் கதையை விஷ்ணுபுரம் சரவணன் அங்கிள் தான் எழுதினாரு.  இந்த கதை எப்படி என்றால் வானவன் என்று ஓர் ராஜாவுக்கு காவலாளிகளும் வேலைக்காரர்களும் வாத்து ராஜா என்று பட்டப்பெயர் இட்டார்கள் ஏனென்றால் அந்த ராஜா ஒரு முட்டாள்.  பறவைகளில் வாத்து தான் மிக முட்டாள்.  அதனால் இந்த பெயரை வைத்தார்.  நான் இந்த புத்தகம் பற்றி ஒரு சிறிய கட்டுரை எழுதப் போகிறேன்.

அமுதா என்று ஒரு சிறுமியிருந்தாள்.  அவள் அப்பா, அம்மா, அவள், அண்ணன் மற்றும் பாட்டி ஒரு குடும்பம்.  எப்போதும் அவள் கூடே இருப்பவள் கீர்த்தனா.  அவர் இரண்டு பேரும் ஒரே ச்கூளில் தான் படிக்கிறார்கள்.  அவர்களுக்கு சுடுகாய் பொறுக்குறது ரொம்பவும் பிடிக்கும்.  ச்கூள் ஆரம்பிக்கர பெல் அடிக்கர முன்னாடி சுடுகாயை பொறுக்கி பகத்துல இருக்கிற ஆத்துல தூக்கிப்போட்டுட்டு வகுப்பறைக்கு போவார்கள்.  ஏன் தூக்கிப்போடுகிறார்கள் என்றால், அமுதாவின் நண்பன் விக்கி பேசிகிட்டே இருக்கிரப்போ நைஸா சுடுகாய எடுத்து அமுத கைல தேச்சு விட்டான்.  கை பயங்கரமாக எரிந்த்து.  அமுத உடனே போய் ராமு ஸார் கிட்ட போய் சொல்லீட்டா.  ராமு ஸார் விக்கியை நன்றாக அடித்தார்.  அன்றிலிருந்து தான் இப்படி பண்ணுகிறார்கள்.  ராமு ஸாரையும் அவர்க்கு ரொம்பவும் பிடிக்கும்.

 

ஒரு நாள், அவள் வகுப்பில் ராணி டீச்சர் வந்தாங்க.  அவர் அமுதா ஹோம்வர்க் பண்ணிகிட்டு வந்தாளானு பார்க்க அவகிட்ட, “அமுதா, உன் ச்லேட்டு குடு.  நீ ஹோம்வர்க் பண்ணீட்டியானு நான் பாக்கணும்,” என்று கேட்டார்.  ஆனால் அவள் ச்லேட்டை பர்தப்போ, அவள் முட்டைக்குள் பூவை வரைந்து வச்சிருந்தாள்.  “நீ ஏன் முட்டைக்குள்ள பூ வரஞ்சு வச்சிருக்க,” என்று ராணி டீச்சர் கேட்டப்போ, அமுதா வாயை திறக்கவில்லை.  கிர்த்தனா கிட்ட ச்லேட்டு கேட்டப்போ, அவளும், அமுதா வரைந்த்து மாதிரியே வரைந்திருந்தாள்.  அதனால, ரெண்டு பேரையும் வகுப்புக்கு வெளிய முட்டிபோட சொன்னாங்க ராணி டீச்சர்.  அவங வெளிய முட்டிபோட்டு உட்கார்ந்தப்போ, யாரோ பேசறது மாதிரி சத்தம் கேட்டது.  அவங்க பயந்து பொய்ட்டாங்க.  அப்போ பாத்தா பேசறது யாரு தெரியுமா ?  ஒரு அணில் தான் அவங்க கிட்ட பேசீடிச்சு.

அந்த அணில், “ஏன் நீங்க வெளிய முட்டிப்போட்டுட்டு உட்கார்ரீங்க?,” என்று கேட்டது.  அப்போ அமுதா, அவளுடைய ச்லேட்டை காட்டி, “இதோ பார், நாங்க ஒரு கதை கேட்ட்திலேந்து, எங்களுக்கு எல்லாமே, வாத்து முட்டைக்குள்ள பூ மாதிரி தெரியுது.  அதனாலதான், ஹோம்ர்க்கை இப்படி செஞ்சிட்டோம்,”என்று சொன்னாள்.  அப்போது அணில், “அது என்ன கதை?  எனக்கும் கேக்க ஆசையா இருக்கு, கொஞ்சம் சொல்லேன் ?,” என்று கேட்டது.  அப்போது, அமுதா, ”இப்ப சொன்னா டீச்சர் திட்டுவாங்க.  அப்றமா சொல்றேன்,” என்று சொன்னாள்.  

அப்ப அணில், “சரி, நீங்க மத்தியானம் சாப்பிட போவீங்க, தானே ?  அப்ப அதொ, அந்த கொய்யா மரத்தில நான் இருப்பேன்.  அங்க வந்து சொல்லு,” என்று சொன்னது.

அப்போ, மத்தியான சாப்பாடு பெல் அடிச்சப்போ, அமுதவும், கீர்த்தனாவும், அந்த கொய்யா மரத்துக்கிட்ட போனாங்க.  அந்த அணில், அங்கேருந்து இருவர்க்கும், ஆளுக்கு ஆளுக்கு ஒரு கொய்யா பழம் கொடுத்தது.  

அப்போ, கீர்த்தனா, “அமுதாருக்கு தான் அவள் பாட்டி சொல்லற மதிரியெ கதை சொல்ல தெரியும்.  அதனாச் அவ சொல்லுவா !,”என்று சொன்னாள்.  அமுதா ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டாள்.  “ஒரு ஊர்ல, ஒரு ராஜா இருந்தாரு.  அவரு அவரோட நாட்ட ஆட்ச்சி பண்ணும்போ, எல்லாரும் நல்லா இருந்தாங்க.  அந்த ராஜாவுக்கு 3 பிள்ளைகள்.  முதல்வன் பெயர் தேசிங்கு, இரண்டாத்தவன் பெயர் கலிங்கன் மற்றும் மூன்றாமத்தவன் பெயர் வானவன்.  தெசிங்குவும் கலிங்கனும் புத்திசாலிகள்.  ஆனால், வானவன் மட்டும் முட்டாள்.  அவன் கிட்டே மக்கள் சரியானது சொல்கிறார்களோ, தவறானது சொல்கிறார்களோ, எல்லாத்துக்கும் ஆமாம் அல்லது சரி என்று சொல்லிவிடுவான்.  அப்போது, பெரிய ராஜா, “மகன்களே, நான் வயதாகி விட்டேன்.  அத்னால், நான் என் மூத்த மகன் தேசிங்குவை ராஜாவாக்க தயாராகிவிட்டேன்,” என்று சொன்னார்.  ஆனால், மூவரும் சண்டையிட்டார்கள்.  அதனால், பெரிய ராஜா, நாட்டை மூன்றாக பிரித்து, மூவருக்கும் கொடுத்தார்.  “நான் ஆட்சி செய்த வரைக்கும், இந் நாட்டிற்கு எந்த பிரச்சனையும் ஏற்படவில்லை.  அதுபோல, நீங்களும் உங்கள் நாட்டை நன்றாக ஆட்ச்சி செய்யவேண்டும் என்று சொன்னார்.   

135. How do animals think?

Animals too think like human beings.  They sense danger that is going to attack them.  There are different of thinkings.  Some animals have high thinking skills too.  

For example, when studying about the chimpanzees, Jane Goodall noticed that a particular chimpanzee thinks what has been done to him / her in the past, and attack the animals who attacked him/ her earlier.

Like this, some animals have thinking skills like thinking something done in the past like the chimpanzees and some animals do not.  

Feelings and expressions:

Animals have feelings too, but they cannot show and explain the feelings by expressions.  This means they sense very frightened or very exciting feelings than we do.  

Some animals enjoy the expressions we do and try to copy them.  Some examples are dogs like to lie in the sunshine or munch delicious food and the mother cow like to cuddle her newborn calf.

Using tools:

Animals cannot compose music like Mozart or Beethoven did, but they can diverse into octopuses, dolphins, whales, etc.

The people made an experiment with the Capuchin monkeys.  Two monkeys were put into two separate glass boxes.  In the first box, there was a tool and in the second box, there was a container that would be opened only with a tools that has nuts (small tools).  The first monkey passed the tool in its box to the other monkey.  The second monkey who then open the box and actually pass over the former half of the nuts.  This proved the level of fairness that is rare in nature.

Language and counting skills:

Apes, dolphins and parrots understand the human language.  Animal have their languages in the form of whispers, whimpers, shaking, yawning, shouting, poking, calling, laughing etc.

The researchers of animals discovered that the monkeys can count only upto four.  Human beings started counting the other numbers only after the languages originated.  

Brains of animals:

Brains of animals are the same as us.  They have the same neurons as us. However, the brains of animals differ in complexity. 

Animals with more complex brains like reptiles have a thalamus.  In humans, it is involved as fear and rage.  Animals with big brains like rats have a cortex.  This part of the brains is involved in solving and learning.

                            

We are unique:

The researchers say, "We are never able to discover how exactly an animal thinks.  

What is to remember is that humans are originated from the animal species that are able to feel emotions and pain or pleasure.  

But there is a unique aspect.  Humans have something that animals doesn't have, an imagination.  

Imaginations helped humans to be adaptable and successful.  

Humans imagine something that had never originated and create it while the animals see only the world as it is already.
