A dictionary (also called a word stock, word reference, word book, lexicon or vocabulary) is a collection of words in one or more specific languages, often listed alphabetically (or by radical and stroke for ideographic languages), with usage information, definitions, etymologies, phonetics, pronunciations, and other information; or a book of words in one language with their equivalence in another, also known as a lexicon. According to Neilsen (2008) a dictionary may be regarded as a lexicographical product that is characterized by three significant features : (1) It has been prepared for one or more functions; (2) It contains data that have been selected for the purpose of fulfilling those functions; and (3) its lexicographic structures link and establish relationships between the data so that they can meet the needs of users and fulfill the functions f the dictionary.

44.A good teacher.
Section 1
There was a woman named Sharada. She was a Maths teacher. She teaches so slowly and very bad. The children studying in the class which she teaches are getting only half marks out of 60 in Maths. The parents were complaining about her badly. There was another teacher named Radha. She was an English teacher. She teaches in medium speed and teaches very kindly. The children gets full marks out of 60. Every parents loved her. She was very good to every one. But, Sharada and Radha hated each other.
Section 2
One day, when Radha was taking English class, Sharada came and interrupted Radha. Radha asked,"Why are you coming here and fighting in my class?" Sharada said,"I'll come whenever I want. What for you?" Both of them fought for a long time and the period finished.
Section 3
It went on many days till one day, when they were fighting, a student named Vidya came and said,"Teachers, don't fight. I have a solution to find who interrupted whom." Radha agreed bravely, but Sharada did not agree. That time Vidya said,"I've found out who interrupted whom. Sharada mam only interrupted Radha mam. Now, shake your hands and be friends." So, both the teachers shook hands and became close friends. So, Vidya got the best student award for the year.

A robot is a mechanical or virtual agent, usually an electro - mechanical machine that is guided by a computer program or electronic circuitry. Robots can be autonomous or semi-autonomous and range from humanoids such as Honda's Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility (ASIMO) and Tosy's TOSY Ping Pong Playing Robot (TOPIO) to industrial robots, collectively programmed 'swarm' robots, and even microscopic nano robots. By mimicking a life like appearance or automatic movements, a robot may convey a sense of intelligence or thought of its own.
Robotics is the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, and applications of robots, as well as computer systems for their control, sensory feedback, and information processing. These technologies deal with automated machines that can take the place of human in dangerous environment or manufacturing processes, or resemble humans in appearance, behavior, and / or cognition. Many of today's robots are inspired by nature contributing to the fields of bio-inspired robotics.

41.Christopher's friendship.
There lived a boy called Albert. He was studying in 10th standard. His friend was a boy named Christopher. He was always friendly with Albert whereas Albert always hated Christopher. When Christopher took leave, to copy the homework, he came to Albert's house. But poor Christopher, for his bad luck, Albert drove him away from his house. When Christopher called Albert in the mobile to listen to the home work, that time also Albert cut the mobile. The next day on school, when Christopher talked to Albert, at least he would talk to him. That time he did not talk at all. Christopher asked why many times, but, Albert kept quiet and did not answer at all. After the school was over, Christopher ran after Albert asking why? why? why? At last Christopher became very tired of asking and went home. He said to his mother that Albert would not talk to him. His mother said,"If he's not talking to you, you also don't talk to him. Why do you need to beg at that boy?" On the next day, Christopher did not talk to Albert at all. That went on till 2 days. At the third day Albert asked Christopher,"Why didn't you talk to me for 2 days, Christopher?" Christopher replied,"You did not talk to me, so I did not talk to you." So, Albert realized and said,"I was checking if you were trying to be my friend." From that day, they both became close friends that no one in the world could be.

Without getting too technical, the first 'computing machine' was created by Charles Babbage in 1822. His idea was not really to create a computer as we know them today, but instead, to create a machine that would compute math problems. He was tired of human errors in completing math problems, so he sought to create an infallible math machine, but what he got instead was a machine that was the basis for what we know now as the computer.

38.A lesson to Priya's step parents.
There lived a girl called Ramya. She is studying in 4th standard. She was a well-educated and a kind girl. Her parents were only kind to her. A girl named Priya was also studying in 4th standard. She was ill-treated in her house and in Ramya's house too. She was a kind girl but uneducated. She lived with her step parents. They all ill-treated her and did not leave her to school to study. Only Ramya was very close to Priya. They made plans that Priya should go to school but each time their plan failed. One day, when they were planning like this, Priya's step parents came across and saw them. Priya's step parents wanted her to not be Ramya's friend, but, they both were being good friend without knowing to Priya's step parents. They came close to Priya and Ramya, called Priya to them, went little far and started scolding Priya. Priya stated crying bitterly and went away from her house to Ramya's house. There Ramya's parents ill-treated Priya. They wanted their daughter not to be Priya's friend. So, Priya and Ramya went away from that house too. They went far and made a plan. They went to Priya's house holding their hands, visited her step parents and Ramya said,"Aunty, please leave Priya. We're going on our ways." Priya's mother saw Ramya's face. Both had an angry look. She realized and finally said,"Dear, you can stay in our house itself. We'll not harm you at all." So, from that day, they all became a family.

Cuddalore:A-nine-year-old-girl had stole the show at the award distribution function held at Tiruvalluvar marriage hall in Cuddalore on Sunday. Chaitanya studying in Vidyodaya schoolin Thiyagaraya nagar in Chennai has translated S.Ramakrishnan's book'Kaal Mulaitha Kathaikal' to English and secured a place among one of the award winners for the best translators.

33. Aishvaryaa's flowerpot.
Section 1
There was a girl named Aishvaryaa. Today is her 8th birthday. Her aunt and uncle gave her a flowerpot. They said,"Aishu, keep it safely. Decorate it with paint. Put any seeds you want and plant something". So she decorated it with white paint and put rose seeds. After a few day, a stem and two leaves came out. Aishvaryaa became very happy and started watering day by day.
Section 2
One day, when Aishvaryaa came for watering, she saw that it was stolen by someone. She searched everywhere but she couldn't see at all. She went to her house, put her watering can somewhere, and started crying. Her mother and consoled her, but she didn't stop.
Section 3
The next day, she went to her school upset. Her friend Mithra asked,"Why are you upset?." Mithra was a tricky girl. Aishvaryaa said crying,"My rose flowerpot is lost." Mithra thought,"How foolish she is. She doesn't know that I only took."
Section 4
When the school finished, Aishvaryaa came home, changed her clothes and went to Mithra's house. Mithra was scared because,"If Aishvaryaa sees her rose flowerpot?" Then she lied to Aishvaryaa that she's going to drink water and went to change the flowerpot. At that second, Aishvaryaa saw the flowerpot and started scolding Mithra. The next day, Mithra apologized to Aishvaryaa and gave her the flowerpot.

33.The twins and the poor girl.
Once, for a couple, a pair of twins were born. After a few days, the parents named them as Rani and Vani. After 5 years, on October 5th, they celebrated their 5th birthday. That time, for their happiness, their mother sent them to the park to play. When they were happily playing on the slide, a poor girl called Neha came that way. Rani and Vani got off the slide and stated walking towards Neha. They reached her, stopped her and asked,"What is your name?". They did not know that Neha was a dumb girl. They kept on asking but, Neha did not reply. At last, they became very furious and slapped her. Rani slapped on the left cheek and Vani slapped on the right cheek. Poor Neha, went home crying. The cruel twins, laughed till they cried. That time suddenly, their mother came to pick them up. They were still laughing. Their mother came and asked,"Why are you laughing, little ones?". The twins saw her, stopped laughing and replied,"Nothing."Their mother kept on asking but they replied nothing itself. At last, their mother said,"Are you hiding the truth to your mother? I won't talk to you until you say the truth." So that, their mother did not talk to them if they talk also. So, one day, they said the whole story. Hearing the truth, their mother hugged them and asked where is that girl. They went to the park, saw Neha, asked apologies and they all became close friends.

31.காவ்யாவின் படம்.
காவ்யா என்ற பெண்ணுக்கு படம் வரைய மிகவும் பிடிக்கும். ஒரு நாள், அவள் பள்ளியிலுருந்து ஒரு காகிதத்தை கொண்டுவந்தாள். காவ்யாவின் அம்மா,”இது என்ன காகிதம்?” என்று கேட்டாள். ஆப்பொழுது, கவ்யா சொன்னாள்,’’ அம்மா, என்னுடைய டீசர் இதில் ஏதாவது படம் வரைய சொல்லியிருக்கிறார்,’’ என்று சொன்னாள் காவ்யா. அப்பொழுது, அவள், அவளது அம்மாவிடம் சென்று,’’அம்மா, நான் இதில் என்ன வரைய?’’, என்று கேட்டாள். அவள் அம்ம சொன்னார்,’’நீ உன் முகத்தை க்ண்ணாடியில் பார்த்து நீயே உன்னை வரையலாம்’’, என்று சொன்னாள். அப்போது, காவ்யா அதை கேட்க்காமல் அழ துவங்கினாள்.
இரவில், அவள் அம்மா அவளை சாப்பிட கூப்பிட்டுகிட்டே இருந்தாள். அப்புறம், காவ்யாவின் அம்மா அவளின் அறைக்கு சென்றார். அப்பொழுது காவ்யா அழுகிறதை பார்த்து,’’நீ உனக்கு தோண்கிறதை வரையலாம்’’, என்றார் அம்மா. அப்போது கவ்யா சந்தோஷமாகி சாப்பிட சென்றாள்.
அடுத்த நாள், அவள் அவளின் அம்மா தூங்கி எந்திரிக்கர்த்துக்கு மூன்னாலே, காவ்யா எந்திரிசு நினைச்சாள்,’’இதில் என்ன தவறு இருக்கிறது? நாம் நம் முகத்தையெ வரையலாமே’’, என்று சொல்லி கண்ணாடியில் பார்த்து அவள் முகத்தை வரைய துவங்கினாள். அவள் அம்ம எந்திரிச்சு,’’என்ன பண்ணுகிறய் இங்கே?’’, என்று கெட்ட உடனே கவ்யா அந்த காகிதத்தில் இருக்கிற அவள் முகத்தை காட்டி சொன்னாள்,’’நன்றாக இருக்கிறதா அம்மா?’’ அவள் அம்மா சொன்னாள்,’’ நன்றாக இருக்கிறது . வரை.’’ ஆவள் வரைந்து முடித்து அவள் பளியில் காட்டீனப்போது, அவர் காவ்யாவுக்கு ஒரு பரிசும் ஒரு வரயுறதர்க்கு உள்ள ஒரு விருதும் கொடுத்தார்.
