253. The Magical Finger.

This was a book I read in my school library.  There was a girl.  The name of the girl mentioned here itself is ‘girl’.  Her neighbor was a family of 4 members.  They were Mr Gregg, Mrs Gregg, William Gregg and Philip Gregg.  They had a beautiful garden.  The father and the two sons were very fond of hunting.  Every evening, they three go to the forest with their guns and capture an animal.  But this girl could not stand hunting.  She had a magic finger, which was the index finger of her right hand.  Whenever she wanted to use the finger, she became cross (angry), her face went red and her magical finger would operate automatically.  When she laid her finger on the three of them, they and the children’s mother turned into wild duck and four wild duck, whose children were shot by those three people, came and lived the Gregg’s house.  The Greggs built a nest on a tree.  After 2 or 3 days, the wild ducks forgave them and they came back to their own houses.  This was the story.  It was a nice story.
